Happy New Year my loves!!!

I wanted to send a little note letting you know I’m starting a 31 day self care/self love “challenge” and I’m going to be using my blog on my site to document/share how I’m doing that! I wanted a little digital journal to document but also to share and connect and keep myself accountable because we all know it’s easy to stick to a wellness routine when we’re feeling good - but the bad days, the triggered, fight or flight days.. the ones where you don’t wanna get out of bed or you don’t wanna workout or you are tempted to escape with drugs/alcohol/food.. whatever it may be. I want to hold myself to a routine that makes me better inside and out. Create some new habits, bring back some old ones and basically bring in the new year feeling stronger and more open and grounded and ready to really receive all of the blessings that are waiting for me. I keep saying over and over I’m ready to be the best version of me. I’m ready for the next level. I’m ready to let go of things that do not serve me in the next phase of my life and I’m ready to make room for what’s waiting for me. So I’ll share things that I’m doing in all aspects - detox, workouts, beauty treatments, spiritual practices.. all of the things I’m doing to bring myself to a happier, healthier, wealthier, more beautiful, more peaceful, more grateful and more generous person and spirit. If you’d like to join along, I’d love it!! Send me messages on IG maybe we can do a lil live. Just gonna feel it out and share as I go. I won’t be emailing every day so check my story or sign up for notifications on IG if you think you’ll forget to check the site & wanna follow along and challenge yourself to 31 days of self care and self love.

Firstly, I started today journaling outside on my patio. The fresh air and sun on my face makes me feel so grateful to be alive and more connected to the universe. I journal anything that comes to mind and kinda do a lil purge of my thoughts and feelings and dreams from the night before. We’ll talk more about journaling in another post but I wanted to share that. No phone, some water, a small black coffee and journal writing.

Day 1..

CLEAN. YOUR. SPACE.

Have you ever heard the saying Cleanliness is next to Godliness? Well, I not only believe that, I know it to be true. When your space is a mess, so is your inner world. It’s actually quite a great reflection of where you’re at in your mind. And if you’re trying to alter your thoughts and state of being to be more positive, you can and absolutely should start with your space. Your sanctuary. Have you seen the movie Limitless with Bradley Cooper? Remember when he takes the pill the first time, the very first thing he does before all of the incredible things he accomplished was clean his apartment. The energy that clutter brings is stagnancy and blockages. Stepping over things, not being able to navigate freely in your surroundings, throws off your zen completely and actually blocks movement and momentum in your life. Everything should have a place. Everything you do not use and haven’t used for 6 months to a year, should go. Do your laundry, go through old drawers and cupboards and closets and get rid of what no longer serves you. Old papers, clothes you don't wear. Donate what you can. Every single thing has energy attached to it so if that thing doesn't add to your experience and/or your future, toss it. Clean your floors. Dust. Water your plants. Wash your bedding! Start doing this once a week!

I want you to start treating your space as if you have a guest coming. A very special guest who means everything in the world to you. A person that you love and care for so deeply that you want nothing but comfort and peace in their experience at your home and in your presence. That person is you. This is where we start to honor ourselves and where we set the bar for everything else we deserve and allow in life. You wouldn't want the person you admire and love the most living in filth would you? Today is the day you start treating yourself that way. Everything else follows from here. Whenever I am feeling lazy about what to make myself to eat or my night time routine I think how would I care for myself if I was taking care of 5 year old me. Would I let her eat something that isn’t nourishing and made with love? Would I let her go to bed without reading her a story or making sure she drank some water and showered and brushed her hair and put on comfy jammies? Never!

I'm sharing this specific activity because this is what I did all weekend to prepare for my new year. I woke up with the most peaceful energy in my apartment today. There is just a certain lightness and flow that cannot be denied. It set the morning up for my peaceful journal writing and my breakfast and workout and the feeling of gratitude and excitement I feel in my heart for the year ahead. So I invite you to do the same if you haven’t already. And if you have, maybe fill your space with fresh flowers and add something that beautifies and honors your beautiful sanctuary. Enjoy the process and most importantly the end result.

I'll be be back here tomorrow for Day 2.

Love you.

xx L
