takecare
Hello my loves,
Checking back in with some wellness tips plus some from my acupuncturist that I had posted on my IG story but I think they need to live a little longer somewhere that we can come back to reference since the air quality from the LA wildfires may be something we are dealing with for some time. I recently became quite ill with a gnarly chest cough and these are some things I've been doing:
- Beef/Bison bone broth (I do Erewhon jars or Kettle & Fire) with Perfect Supplements Bovine Gelatin, ginger, lemon, celtic sea salt & pepper twice a day
- tons of fresh OJ, green juices like celery w/ lemon, greens + apple, ginger, lemon and lots of spring water with lemon or lime or cucumber
- LypoSpheric Vitamin C and Glutathione mixed with Optimize Minerals
- 1-2 spoonfulls of Black Seed Oil
- Standard Process Echinacea Premium (2 a day)
- N-Acetylcysteine - which helps with detoxification pathways of the liver and lungs
- Vitamin D3 & K2
- nap under my Celluma for 30 min a day
- LOTS OF SLEEP - seriously I was sleeping about 11-12 hours a night + 1-2 hour naps the first 48 hours I got sick.
It's day 4 and I woke up with more energy than I've had in days and like I am coming out the other side. However, these are things I will be investing in going forward on top of continuing the protocol mentioned above, as I do think the air quality is going to take some time to get back to normal:
- MASKING. N95. I do think it's really important right now.
- Air Purifier. There are tons on Amazon. I'm still reading reviews & deciding but I do need one for my home & office and just remember it's important to get one that is sufficient for your space.
- Omega 3 fish oil (2 a day) - note you need to take this with food!! I wasn't aware but apparently the food "activates" it or helps it get into your system better or whatever but take with a meal
- Sulforaphane - Broccoli sprout extract
- drinking lots of herbal teas including Mullein Leaf and Mulberry Leaf which help detoxify and clear "lung heat" for dry cough or cough with phlegm and sore throat
- Infrared Sauna 1-2 times a week for 45 min
- Red Light Therapy daily
- Hot salt baths
- Daily movement (yoga, walking, running, stretching, weight lifting, pilates) - it doesn't need to be strenuous every time, listen to your body but it is important to MOVE
MOST IMPORTANTLY it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by ME (lol) to create a daily practice where you can connect with your higher self. Your inner self. Guided meditation, journal, prayer, reiki, singing, dancing, all of the above!! Seriously, the number one thing that fucks with your immune system and wellbeing is STRESS. There is a LOT going on in the world right now. I need you to become centered within yourself and be fucking STUBBORN about it. Every day. There are going to be things that are gonna want you to give up, turn on your neighbors, your friends & family, turn on yourself(!), things that want you to feel hopeless, helpless.. you can't let yourself go there. I need you to be stubbornly delusional right now. Believe in the beauty that exists within each one of us. Don't get sucked in by the outside noise. Your mind and heart have more power than you can even imagine. Protect them. Be good to yourself. Take the most care of that vessel and see how it guides you through these times of uncertainty, insecurity, fear and the unknown.
You are so loved and so so protected.
xoxo L
